Soldier Killed in Head-On Collision

Two people, including a soldier at the Fort Huachuca Army, were killed in a two-vehicle accident in southwestern Arizona on Friday.

The soldier’s vehicle crossed the median on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande and collided head-on with another vehicle, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Both drivers were killed at the scene of the collision.

The soldier’s passenger, also a Fort Huachuca soldier, is in stable condition and expected to survive from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Both soldiers were assigned to a warrior transition unit, which helps injured soldiers focus on healing before returning to duty or transitioning to the work force outside the military.

The identity of the soldiers has not been released.
