South Louisiana Man Killed in Oil Rig Accident

A South Louisiana man was killed in an oil rig accident in DeQuincy, Louisiana Sunday.

Brian Dominque, 50, was loading oil field equipment off the Louisiana Highway 12 in DeQuincy, which is located in Beauregard Parish, and was attempting to secure the equipment when it shifted and toppled onto him, according to investigators.

Dominque, later identified by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, was pronounced dead as he was being transported to the hospital.

Investigators say Dominque was loading oil field equipment at a site off the Louisiana Highway 12. While trying to secure the load, the load shifted and fell on top of him.

The accident is under investigation.
