St. Louis Contruction Accident Kills Young Man
A construction accident at a St. Louis County, Missouri construction site took the life of a 21-year old man Tuesday morning.
Steven Lillicrap, 21, was working to disassemble a crane at the site in Maryland Heights, where a new Edward Jones facility is being built, when the crane collapsed, said police.
A second crane was used to try and free him. Investigators say Lillicrap had tried to hook his safety cable, but was not successful and so when the other cable operator began to move the crane, Lillicrap was pulled into the reel of the other cable, which trapped his arm and chest.
The Occupational and Safety Health Administration is investigating the accident further.
