Student Injred in Pedestrian Accident
A student was injured Monday morning when she was hit by a car as she was walking to Archbishop Williams High School in Washington.
Police investigated a pedestrian accident on Washington Street at on the morning of Jan. 30, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins told the Forum.
A 17-year-old Plymouth resident, whose name has not been released, was hit in the crosswalk as he was crossing Washington Street behind the Archbishop Williams High School.
The student suffered non-life threatening head injuries and was transported to Boston Medical Center to be treated.
Once witnesses explained to police how the accident occurred, 38-year-old Quincy man, whose name was also not released, was cited for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The student was in the crosswalk when he was hit on the passenger side of the Quincy man’s Volkswagen Passat.
The right side of the Passat’s windshield was smashed. Speed did not appear to be a play a role in the accident.
