According to deputies, Jeremy Heath Smith, 17, was a passenger on an ATV driven by Justin Bandy, 20, that struck a car in the opposite lane on Red Root Ridge Road Monday afternoon.

Smith was airlifted to a hospital in Bristol, Virginia where he was pronounced dead.

Bandy was taken to Holsten Valley Medical Center where he is listed in good condition.

The accident is under investigation. 

Roland J. Levesque, 79, of Gorham, was riding an ATV down a rocky hill between

Boundary and Middle roads in Standish when the vehicle overturned, landing on his legs around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Levesque was transported to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to officials, the rocky trail has been eroding due to recent wet weather.

The accident is under investigation.

The man in his 40s, whose name has not been released, was riding the ATV on Gamble Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into the woods off the roadway just before 5:40 p.m. June 20.

A witness called Morgan County 911 Dispatch Center and rescuers responded to the scene.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was unconscious when rescuers arrived and was airlifted to Washington County Hospital with serious injuries.

Nathan Buss and Donald Jennings were the victims of the crash, which occurred 2 a.m. Sunday on Ostwalt-Amity Road near Arthurs Road when an ATV rear-ended another one.

Buss was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where he is still listed in critical condition as of Monday evening.

Jennings was Lake Norman Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released for injuries suffered in the crash.

Neither man was wearing a helmet.

The accident is under investigation.

Dylan Lewis, 14, of Argos, Dakota Garcia, 1, of Warsaw, were riding an ATV, driven by Angelita C. Garcia, 18, of Warsaw, northbound on CR 650E when she failed to stop at the intersection with Ind. 14 and collided with a pickup driven by Morse Utter, 83, of Rochester around 8:14 p.m. Monday.

Lewis and Dakota Garcia were ejected from the ATV and airlifted to Parkview Hospital with multiple injuries.

Angelita Garcia was taken to Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, where she was treated for a broken leg and released.

Utter did not sustain any injuries.

Dennis J. Martin, 48, of Louisville, was operating an all-terrain vehicle when he failed to negotiate a curve on a trail south of County Route 36 just before noon on Sunday. Martin lost control of the machine and struck a grouping of trees off the trail.

County coroner James Sienkiewycz pronounced Martin dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Abigail L. Pacheco, 24, of Watertown, was riding an unregistered 2000 Honda 4-Wheeler when she popped the clutch and fell off the back of the ATV. Pacheco suffered bruises to her back in the accident.

Gouverneur-based State Police responded to the accident and transported Pacheco to E. J. Noble where she was treated and released.

Deputy Matt Sigers and Ashley Davis, 22, were riding an ATV on Doyle Williams Road when Sigers failed negotiate a curve on the dirt road and lost control of the vehicle. The ATV struck a tree off the roadway, throwing the couple from the vehicle around 9 p.m. Sunday, about 4 miles off county Road 125.

Sigers and Davis, neither of whom was wearing a helmet, were transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center suffering serious head injuries.

Sigers is in serious but stable condition. Davis has undergone surgery and is in critical condition.

The man was operating an ATV north of Gully when the vehicle appeared to have run off the road and overturn before 6 a.m. Thursday.

The man was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported to the accident scene around 6 a.m. The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.

Glenn Shepard, 59, of Columbia Falls, was riding an ATV along an old logging road when he lost control and was thrown from the vehicle around 7:30 p.m. Thursday about 18 miles up the west side of Hungry Horse Dam Road.

Responders performed CPR but Shepard, whose head had struck the ground, was pronounced dead at the scene.
