Deputy Mike Johnson, 60, of the Burke County sheriff’s department was going down the Savannah River when he crashed into a log. The accident caused Johnson to be ejected from the boat.

According to the police, John was drug to shore by passersby who saw the incident. They were unable to revive him.

It was later discovered through medical testing that the deputy underwent a heart attack.

A 23-foot craft collided into the jetties near where the creek meets the ocean south of Brunswick around 4:15 a.m. Sunday. The Coast Guard received a mayday call regarding the incident and a rescue boat crew responded to the scene to find two people in the water.

One person, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was later pronounced dead.

The accident is being investigated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was found in the water of Wareham River Saturday by the Wareham harbormaster who performed CPR on him.

The man was transported to Tobey Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The accident is under investigation by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.

Jennifer Dwyer, 30, and Kimberly Spangler, 29, were tubing when they crashed into a dock at the West Shores subdivision around 7:30 p.m., near 252nd and Pacific streets.

The women were airlifted to Nebraska Medical Center, where Dwyer was pronounced dead from internal injuries, and Spangler suffered a severe cut on her back.

Todd Spangler, 30, was cited for boating under the influence but the charge has been dropped.

The family from Parker, Colorado, was boating on a 28-foot-long speedboat in Lake McConaughy Saturday afternoon when the accident occurred. Officials believe it may have been a mechanical problem that caused the boat to overturn and break.

Joseph Drawbaugh, 42, was killed in the accident.

Drawbaugh’s wife, Susan, was transported to Ogallala and then transferred to a Denver hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Drawbaughs’ 15-year-old daughter, Jenny, was also transported to Ogallala suffering a broken leg. Their 10-year-old son, Colton, had a broken arm.

August Reyes, 56, of Kirkland, was boating in rough, windy waters with a friend when they were thrown from the boat just north of the Highway 520 floating bridge.

Reyes’ friend was able to swim to shore an hour and a half later but could not locate Reyes.

Reyes body was found around 20 feet offshore of Juanita Beach Park and pulled from the lake Friday afternoon.

The cause of death is being investigated.

According to St. Louis County sheriff’s authorities, Leroy Czechowski, 84, of Royal, Arkansas, was boating on Pelican Lake, just outside of Orr, when he collided with another boat.

Czechowski, the sole occupant of his boat, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Two men traveling in the other boat were taken to a hospital where they were treated and released.

The accident is under investigation.

Orr is located about 100 miles northwest of Duluth.

The 13-year-old boy was thrown from his boat into the water when he steered his boat into the dock, according to Maryland Natural Resources police. The boy was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore Sunday evening with serious injuries.

It is prohibited by law in Maryland for anyone under the age of 16 from operating a personal watercraft. Brian Jay Dalamater was charged in the accident with knowingly allowing a 13-year-old boy to operate the personal watercraft and failure to possess valid registration.

A group of friends were boating on the New Jersey river in a 15-foot skiff when the boat collided with a 30-foot Boston Whaler. The two boats were traveling in opposite directions so it is unknown how the collision occurred.

Kyle Tanis, 24, of Mahwah, suffered a skull fracture and internal injuries in the accident.

Four others suffered injuries, including two sisters who remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Two men traveling on the larger boat did not suffer any injuries in the accident, which is under investigation.

Cole Bizuk, 5, was on the boat when a storm created 3 to 4 foot waves, causing the 21-foot boat to capsize Sunday and trapped some of the occupants inside the cabin.

According to Joy Hill, of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Bizuk was pronounced dead Monday night at an area hospital from injuries he suffered in the accident.

Dennis Clayton Lennon, 4, and Ciara Puskas, 14, were also killed in the accident.
