Medical crews rushed the MFL MarMac School District students and their driver to three nearby hospitals for treatment.

According to the school’s superintendant, except for one student who is being held for observation all of the rest have since been released.

The accident that occurred around 8 a.m. in Monona is still under investigation by the police.

The morning’s weather consisted of patchy fog, which could have played a part.

The school bus was traveling towards Westover High School in Fayetteville when a car rear-ended it while at an intersection.

Of the thirty five students aboard the bus, eight were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment. Parents of three students picked them up and the rest of them were taken to school.

Police are still investigating and the conditions of the student have not yet been reported.

A car being driven by 21-year-old Casey Engstrom flew through a red light and crashed into the Watt Elementary bus.

The four children injured on the bus were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A passenger in Engstrom’s vehicle was also taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Police are still investigating, but have cited Engstrom for the running the red light.

Mia Washington of Crystal Spring was unable to survive the fatal accident and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical crews.

According to Georgia police, there were no children aboard the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver and assistant driver received treatment for minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.

Ralph Agree was driving a school bus for special needs students when he drove into the path of a 1989 GMC pickup.

Agree was immediately airlifted to University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment. He suffered serious injuries. His current condition has not yet been reported.

Three passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the accident, a female transportation aide, a 3-year-old student, and a 4-year-old student.

The victims were not seriously injured, but as a safety precaution, medical crews still transported the victims to the medical center. They were released shortly after. 

The charge against Agree is for failing to yield the right of way.

Officials are continuing to investigate the accident.

The brakes on the bus overheated and in order to avoid driving off of a cliff, the driver stopped the bus by smashing into the trees on the side of the road.

Medical crews arrived and rushed the injured to local hospitals. Out of the 40 that were on the bus 15 people were injured and of the 15, 12 were in middle school.

None of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening.

Both buses were traveling with two others to an orientation at a career center. One of the bus drivers, 64-year-old Bill Hauck, suddenly stopped and was then rear-ended by another bus being driven by Carmen Nattos, 36. Neither of them has required any disciplinary action during their employment.

Seventeen of the eighth grade students suffered neck and shoulder pain and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. They were all released that afternoon.

Safety inspections are being done on the two buses and police are conducting an investigation into the accident.

The driver allegedly began to doze off, causing the bus to run off the road and hit the pole. Twelve passengers and the driver were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment.

The victims sustained their injuries and the worst that were reported were a broken nose and a possible concussion.

Police are investigating the accident, but have cited the driver for careless driving.

Brandon Ugarte , 14, was riding a First Baptist Church bus when the tire blew out about two miles west of the Alabama State Line, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to a rest on its side. Ugarte and two other passengers were ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger and the daughter of Associate Pastor John Henson, Maggie Lee Henson, was taken to the University of Mississippi in Jackson here she is listed in critical condition from severe head injuries.

The bus was occupying 23 people.

A bus was traveling eastbound on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station when it collided with a Jeep just east of Park Avenue around 7:15 p.m. A woman, the sole occupant of the Jeep, had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Jaws of Life, used by the Huntington Manor Fire Dept.

The woman was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital with injuries. Three passengers on the bus were transported to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
