The 40-year-old worker was greasing a machine that works to separate sewage from rags when for unknown reasons the machine closed on his arms at the treatment plant in La Crosse.

Another employee witnessed the accident and drove the victim to a nearby hospital.

According to authorities, it is not known if the man’s hands can be saved.

The accident is under investigation.

A 48-year-old man was operating a boat carrying six people when he crashed it into a Bethel Island levee on Sand mound Slough near the Sugar Barge RV Park and Marina around 8:30 p.m. Friday. Three female passengers suffered injuries in the accident. One, a 17-year-old girl from Martinez, was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The other two were taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch.

The boats operator was arrested on suspicion of operating a boat under the influence of alcohol and causing injury.

The accident is under investigation.

Rodrigo Ramirez Castillo, 46, of Bowling Green, was driving westbound on Browning Road Tuesday morning when he crossed the median and hit a minivan driven by Brian Schneider of Hohemwald, Tennessee.

Schneider’s wife, Sandra Acosta, and their two young children were occupants in the van. Acosta was taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Schneider and the two children were not injured.

Investigations have shown that Castillo was driving under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.

A man and a woman were traveling on a motorcycle when the accident on Route 19, near Four States Road in Worthington just after midnight.

The victims were airlifted by Healthnet to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Their conditions are not known at this time. Their identities have not been released pending family notification.

James Pascoe, 35, of Alamosa, was driving southbound when he ran a stop sign and collided with an eastbound minivan driven by a 15-year-old male around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.

A 4-year-old girl traveling in the minivan was ejected and suffered injuries. Jorge Orosco, 37, of Pueblo was flown to an area hospital in serious condition. Moncerrat Dominguez, 32, of Pueblo, is in fair condition.

Pascoe and his wife, who were transporting a baby alligator and turtle, were not injured.

Pascoe was cited for failure to stop and careless driving causing serious bodily injury.

Meade County firefighters were responding to a car accident when their fire engine overturned on route 448 near the town of Brandenburg, Kentucky. The firemen suffered minor to serious injuries and were airlifted to a hospital in Louisville.

It is unknown what caused the accident, which is under investigation.

A Hyundai Sonata rear-ended a Toyota RAV4 that was waiting at a red light, causing the Toyota to then strike a Lincoln Navigator. The driver of the Hyundai sped up, driving the vehicle over a curb and crashing into an M&T Bank branch in the 9800 block of Reistertown Road around 12 p.m. Friday.

The drivers of the Hyundai and the Toyota were transported to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Lincoln was uninjured.

The names of the drivers have not been released.

The 13 people were traveling at bout 50 miles per hour on a 45-foot performance boat when the driver attempted a sharp turn. The boat struck a wake and all 13 occupants were tossed into the river.

Responding emergency crews managed to rescue the 11 adults and two children, 5 and 10 years of age, out of the river.

Eleven of the occupants were transported to hospitals with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred near the 147 mile marker when one of the vehicles was rear-ended, causing a domino effect resulting in a nine-vehicle crash. One person suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Traffic was backed up for hours as the accident was cleared and investigated.

It is unknown what caused the accident but foul weather may have been a contributing factor.

The semi-truck was traveling on Indiana 13 when it collided with a second vehicle, possibly a van, around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 53000 block near the intersection with County Road 120, said Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department dispatch.

One occupant of the second vehicle suffered serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene.

The driver of the semi did not suffer any serious injuries.
