A Toyota Tundra heading south lost control and hit a Dodge Neon leading both vehicles to spin into oncoming traffic. A Buick Century crashed into the Neon killing four of the five people in the car. The survivor of the crash and the driver of the Buick were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One passenger of the Tundra received treatment at the scene, while three others were taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Tundra was believed to have been under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the accident as well as the driver for intoxicated manslaughter.

A SUV was traveling eastbound on Seawall Boulevard when it crashed into a parked car on the side of the road just after 10 p.m. Two of the three victims were struck by the parked vehicle, but it is unknown which two.

Killed in the accident were Tremane Albert, 25, his stepson Alan Meredith, 10, and Isaiah Barnett, 3. Barnett’s mother was at the scene when the accident occurred but did not suffer any injuries.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was transported to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

Speed and alcohol were contributing factors, said Galveston police spokesman Lt. D.J. Alvarez said.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist was traveling at about 45 miles per hour when he ran into a sign on the roadway at 71st Street and Quaker at about 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported by EMS to the hospital suffering serious injuries.

It is unknown at this time what caused the accident, which is under investigation.

Three people were traveling in a 1997 Chevy Lumina on Southbound US 87 when they crashed into the concrete barrier at the US 60/87 interchange at about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was traveling too fast for the wet conditions.

The driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old female from Amarillo, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The two passengers, another 15-year-old Amarillo female, and a 24-year-old Amarillo male, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.

It is not believed that any of the occupants were wearing their seatbelt.

A man estimated to be in his late 20s or early 30s, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was traveling on his motorcycle when the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Monday. The man was thrown from the motorcycle and over a retaining wall as he traveled on State Highway 161 in Irving.

The man was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas suffering from serious internal injuries.

It is unknown what caused the accident or if other vehicles were involved.

Willie Kind, 59, of Henderson, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on Interstate 20 near Lawson Road when he was rear-ended by a Honda Accord, according to Mesquite police. The impact caused the truck to cross the center median, and overturn in the eastbound lanes.

A passenger in the pickup, Fannie Kind, 54, of Henderson, was ejected from the truck and killed.

Willie Kind was transported to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas where he was listed in stable condition, police stated. The driver of the Honda, whose name has not been released, was also transported to the hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Charles King, 72, of Dallas, was traveling on his motorcycle on Interstate 635 near Centerville Road when he was struck by a vehicle, sending his motorcycle into the path of a semi tractor-trailer rig. The responsible vehicle, described by witnesses only as a dark colored car, fled the accident scene.

King, who had ridden a motorcycle for almost 60 years, was killed in the accident.

Garland police are searching for the hit-and-run vehicle and investigating the accident.

The accident occurred just before the lunch rush hour at 11 a.m. Thursday. The 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on the Southwest Freeway near West Alabama when the large blue container on the rear of the truck fell onto the freeway.

The driver was able to safely exit the truck and suffered only minor injuries.

A passenger and the driver of an SUV traveling next to the 18-wheeler suffered injuries in the accident and were taken to local hospitals, according to Houston police.

The accident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Transportation officials.

Christopher Salazar, 21, of Sugarland, was driving his vehicle southbound on Highway 59 south as Brandon Hart, 19, of Woodville, was attempting to cross the highway. Hart ran in front of traffic and was struck by Salazar, who had attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful.

Hart, in his Freshman year of college, was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred around 8:57 Monday in the 3500 block of Highway 59 south.

The body of Trevor Rotzoll, 26, was discovered near the breakwater at Silverlake Marina just before 5 p.m. Friday. Texas Parks and Wildlife wardens used sonar equipment to locate him, and then Grapevine Fire Department divers brought up his remains.

Rotzoll had been reported missing March 28 after his canoe capsized near Silverlake Marina.

What caused the canoe to capsize is unknown.
