The victim was attempting to cross West I-20 Freeway when he was struck by a 2003 Mazda Protege that was unable to avoid the collision at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Two other drivers also traveling in the westbound lane ran over the victim.

It is believed that other vehicles also ran over the victim but were not identified.

The accident is under investigation.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist was traveling at about 45 miles per hour when he ran into a sign on the roadway at 71st Street and Quaker at about 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported by EMS to the hospital suffering serious injuries.

It is unknown at this time what caused the accident, which is under investigation.

The officer crashed his vehicle into a pole near the intersection of Richardson and M Road in Edinburg, Texas, causing the vehicle to overturn. Emergency crews had to extract the officer from the vehicle by using the Jaws of Life. The officer was conscious and talking when he arrived at the hospital.

According to witness Carlos Cervantes, at first the patrol car did not have its sirens or lights activated but then suddenly turned them on and sped off when he ran into the pull.

Edinburg Police Chief Quirino Muñoz said the officer was on his way to assist other officers when he apparently lost control of his vehicle.

The accident is under investigation.

J.T. Gilbert, 76, of Lufkin was traveling in a Lincoln Town Car southbound on Featgin Drive when he veered off the road near Tom Temple. According to Lufkin police, the vehicle drove into a tree in the front yard of a house at about 12:15 p.m.

Gilbert was transported with serious injuries to Memorial Health System of East Texas and was then transferred to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler where he remains in critical condition.

Gilbert’s legs were pinned in the vehicle and he had to be excavated from the vehicle by emergency crews using the Jaws of Life.

The accident is under investigation.

The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 635 between U.S. Highway 80 and Town East Boulevard. A motorcycle and three other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The accident is being investigated by Mesquite police. It is not known what caused the accident or whether any other injuries are involved.

According to police, the motorcyclist was riding his motorcycle at the intersection of of Staples and Herndon streets when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his vehicle and was seriously injured.

The motorcyclist driver, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported to a local hospital suffering injuries to his knees and feet, said police.

The accident is under investigation.

Matthew Urdiales, 21, of Alvin was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid when he lost control of the vehicle while in the 2400 block of West Parkwood Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m. The Intrepid swerved off the right side of the roadway and crashed head-on into a utility pole.

Urdiales and front-seat passenger Chelsie Agharaad, 21, of Alvin, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Matthew Urdiales’s cousin, Richard Urdiales, 30, of Dickinson was sitting in the back of the vehicle and was transported by helicopter ambulance to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he was listed in guarded condition.

Jessaca Caceres, of Justin, was traveling on the 14000 block of John Day Road south of State Highway 114 when she veered off the roadway, slamming into a tree, according to Tom Reedy, a Denton County sheriff’s spokesman.

Caceres was airlifted to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Caceres was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

A man was traveling in the vehicle with Caceres but it is unknown if he was injured or not, said Reedy.

Trey Gordon Morgan, 25, of Angelina County was traveling eastbound on Atkinson when he traveled across the westbound lanes, leaving the roadway and colliding into a tree before catching on fire in the 2600 block of Atkinson Drive around 12:30 a.m., according to police. Morgan was the only occupant in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

When police responded to the scene they discovered a crack pipe on the driver’s seat and three rocks of crack cocaine in a container inside the vehicle. When Morgan was removed from the vehicle he had a lighter in his hand.

The exact cause of death is not known, but the victim’s body did not burn in the fire.  Lufkin Police Lt. David Young says that blood tests are being conducted but an autopsy was not ordered. Investigators found no tire marks on the roadway to indicate a sudden movement that was made in order to avoid a collision.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday a vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate 35 in Elm Mott, north of Waco, lost control of their vehicle and hit a guardrail, causing the vehicle to flip, according to authorities. The vehicle was then hit by an 18-wheeler that was traveling behind it.

It is known that at least one of the people injured in the accident was transported to an area hospital. Other details and information regarding the collision is not immediately available.

The accident was backing up southbound traffic late Tuesday morning, along with another accident in the area of the South 5th Street exit in Waco Tuesday morning.
