The victim, 51-year-old Randolph Todd of Shepherd, was making a delivery when an Amtrak passenger train t-boned his semi truck.

Police, firefighters, and medical crews arrived on the scene, but Todd was unable to survive the deadly crash.

The train reportedly had 247 passengers and no injuries were recorded. The engine on the train was damaged.

Police are continuing to investigate the fatal accident.

Four men were driving in a Mercury SUV when they tried to cross railroad tracks and were then struck by a train.

Three of the four men, Loman Owen IIII, 23, Phillip A. McGregor, 45, and Michael Williams, 40, were unable to survive the accident.

The fourth, 42-year-old Loman Owen III, was airlifted to a Nashville hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Officials had arrived at the scene and saw the black Mercury Mountaineer upside down near the tracks.

A full investigation into the fatal accident is still underway.

Jesus Garcia, of Rio Grande City, was traveling to a rural pipeline base site in his service truck when the vehicle was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train just outside of Berthold, North Dakota Sunday afternoon.

Allegedly, Garcia was crossing the tracks despite activated signals warning that a train was approaching.

Richard Farkas, 29, of Hawley Avenue, was crossing the railroad tracks with two other men as they walked back from a convenience store. As the Amtrak train approached, two men continued to walk while Farkas stayed on the train tracks.

Farkas was pronounced dead at the scene, near the railroad tracks on West State Street where he was found shortly after the train passed by.

The accident is under investigation.

The 31-year-old New Lenox man was sitting on gravel near the tracks as the Metra train pulled into the Oak Forest station at 4850 W. 159th St. The engineer saw the man and applied his brakes but was unable to stop the train in time, striking the man around 11:55 p.m. Saturday. The victim was thrown and died in the accident.

The man’s name will not been released until his family is notified.

The man, in his early 20s, was walking with a group that had been at the beach and was walking along the tracks to get back up to Carkeek Park when the Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train came upon them.

The Chicago bound train blasted its horn and pressed the emergency brakes but one of the members of the group, a young man, was not able to get out of the way in time and was struck around 9 p.m. Saturday.

The train could not avoid hitting man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amtrak train 22, the Texas Eagle, was en route to Chicago when it collided with a vehicle that was obstructing the tracks near 135th Street and New Avenue in southwest Romeoville around 1:10 p.m.

None of the 250 passengers or 12 crew members on the train suffered any injuries. According to reports, at least one person in the vehicle was killed and others suffered injuries.

The accident is under investigation.

It was the first day that the 18-year-old female had operated the train by herself when the train derailed and injured over 20 passengers.

In October 2007 another accident occurred at the Louisville Zoo when the front axle broke on one of the trains.

The man in his 30’s, whose name has not been released, was reportedly crossing the tracks at the San Jose Diridon station on his bicycle when he was struck by a off-duty Caltrain at about 4:10 p.m. Friday. Reportedly, the crossing gates were down at the time of the accident.

The man was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead several hours later.

Four trains were delayed because of the collision.

The San Jose Police Department is investigating the accident.

David Waller, 47, of Kalamazoo, was hit and killed by a train while he was attempting to cross the tracks near Lovell Street and West Michigan Avenue, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

According to witnesses, the crossing arms were activated, red lights were flashing, bells were ringing, and the conductor blew his horn when the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses said it seemed as if Waller was attempting to run faster to beat the train. He was thrown about 25 feet after he was struck and pronounced dead at the accident scene.

This incident marks the second fatal train-pedestrian accident in Kalamazoo County in two months.

Authorities believe the incident was an accident but the investigation is continuing.
