Teenage Boy Killed in Go-Kart Accident

A 16-year-old male died from injuries suffered in a go-kart accident in Mecosta County, Michigan that occurred on Monday afternoon.

The teenager from Blanchard, whose name has not been released, was riding a go-kart on 10th Avenue north of 6 Mile Road in Wheatland Township, which is located in the central part of Mecosta County, when one of the tires fell off, causing the vehicle to crash. The accident occurred around 4:50 p.m. Monday.

The teenager was transported to an area hospital where he later died from the injuries he suffered in the accident.

The accident is under investigation.
