Teenage Girl Killed in One-Vehicle Accident
A teenage girl was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning in Canyon, Texas.
Three people were traveling in a 1997 Chevy Lumina on Southbound US 87 when they crashed into the concrete barrier at the US 60/87 interchange at about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was traveling too fast for the wet conditions.
The driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old female from Amarillo, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The two passengers, another 15-year-old Amarillo female, and a 24-year-old Amarillo male, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.
It is not believed that any of the occupants were wearing their seatbelt.
