Teenager Injured, Man Charged, in Boating Accident

A teenager suffered serious injuries when he ran his boat into a dock along Herring Creek in West Ocean City, Maryland Sunday.

The 13-year-old boy was thrown from his boat into the water when he steered his boat into the dock, according to Maryland Natural Resources police. The boy was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore Sunday evening with serious injuries.

It is prohibited by law in Maryland for anyone under the age of 16 from operating a personal watercraft. Brian Jay Dalamater was charged in the accident with knowingly allowing a 13-year-old boy to operate the personal watercraft and failure to possess valid registration.
