Teenager Killed in Hit-And-Run Motorcycle Accident

A teenager was killed in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident Monday night in Newburgh.

A 18-year-old man from New Windsor was traveling westbound on West Street when he clipped a wooden trailer that was parked along the street around 10:35 in the area of 161 West Street.

The collision caused the motorcycle to drive into the northbound lane of traffic when it was struck by a northbound white van. The van drove away from the scene of the accident without stopping, said police.

The motorcycle driver was killed in the crash.

Newburgh city police are searching for the van, which may have damage to the front.
