Ten Vehicle Accident on Interstate 20

Ten vehicles, including three 18-wheelers, were involved in a collision on Interstate 20 in St. Claire County Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred near the 147 mile marker when one of the vehicles was rear-ended, causing a domino effect resulting in a nine-vehicle crash. One person suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Traffic was backed up for hours as the accident was cleared and investigated.

It is unknown what caused the accident but foul weather may have been a contributing factor.
