Three Missourians Killed in Louisiana Plane Crash
Three Missourians were killed when a small plane they were traveling in crashed in a heavily wooded area in southeastern Louisiana late Friday night, according to authorities.
Perry Rushing of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says the plane, a single-engine Cessna 182, fell just before midnight Friday in a heavily wooded area west of Independence, Louisiana.
The pilot of the plane, Glen Johnson, 39, of Gautier, Missouri, and two other Missourians, Tabitha Dolbarel, 39, and her 13-year-old son Nelson Dolbare, of Van Cleave, were all killed in the crash.
It is unknown what caused the crash. Rushing does not believe that weather was a factor in the accident. The plane was en route to Marksville in central Louisiana, from Slidell.
Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
