Three people, including two kids, have been hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday night in Florida.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Noemi M. Gomez, 29, of Lake Hamilton was traveling northbound in a 2003 Toyota Corolla on Bice Grove Road nearing County Road 546 east of Lake Hamilton at approximately 8:30 p.m. when at the intersection, Gomez struck a eastbound 1996 Ford pickup truck driven by Wesley D. Wise, 19, of Lake Wales.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup to spin counterclockwise and overturn, coming to a stop on the north shoulder of CR 546. Gomez’s vehicle spun clockwise and came to stop on the south shoulder of CR 546.

Gomez was flown to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, suffering serious injuries, according to the report. Two passengers in the Corolla, Dominick Kocot, 9, and Xavier Martinez, 8, both of Haines City, were flown to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando, also suffering serious injuries, the report said.
