Three Seperate Fatal Accidents in the Adirondack

Three separate automobile accidents in Adirondack Park, New York resulted in three fatalities this week.

Margaret Steen, 81, of Bombay, N.Y., was killed Tuesday when she pulled out in front of a tractor trailer truck loaded with milk, police stated. Steen’s vehicle had been parked on the shoulder of County Route 4 before she pulled into the oncoming traffic and was hit by the tractor trailer, dying at the scene of the accident, said police.

A two-car accident on Gilbert Road in Mooers resulted in the death of a young man on Monday, police said. Jonothan C., McGoldrick, 16, of Champlain, N.Y. was driving in the eastbound lane when he lost control of a vehicle as he rounded a snow-covered curve, police said. McGoldrick’s vehicle crossed lanes and crashed into another vehicle. McGoldrick died at the scene, police said.

Robert P. Byno, 29, of Saranac Lake was killed after he lost control of the snowmobile he was driving near Split Rock Road, police said. Byno was ejected from the snowmobile when it entered a wooded area traveling too fast. Byno died at the scene.
