Truck Driver Killed in Bridge Accident
A truck driver was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Dunn, North Carolina Tuesday morning.
The truck was traveling on Interstate 40 when it veered into the median and struck the bridge support at Exit 348 at Suttontown Road, which is about fives miles east of Newton Grove.
According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Greg Steffens, no one witnessed the accident and the cause of the fatal accident has not been released.
The bridge was closed temporarily and traffic was diverted while the accident is being investigated and the safety of the bridge is evaluated.
The driver of the truck, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was killed in the accident.
