Two School Buses in Accident, Five Injured
Five people, including two students, were injured in an accident involving two school buses and a car near Huntersville, North Carolina Tuesday morning.
A school bus traveling on Alexanderana Road drove across the center double yellow line and collided into another school bus traveling in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision caused the second bus to spin and then strike a car, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The collisions occurred on Alexanderana Road between Eastfield and Statesville Roads around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Two students and three adults were transported by MEDIC to area hospitals.
A spokeswoman for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools said the drivers of both school buses have been suspended with pay until the investigation is complete.
