Van Flips and Injures 6 in Chicago

Six Chicago people were injured Monday when the van they were traveling in flipped over.

For reasons still unknown, the 19-year-old driver somehow lost control causing the van to flip over. The unidentified teen along with one other passenger attempted to run away after the vehicle came to a stop, but were soon detained by the authorities.

Medical crews arrived on the scene and transported the six injured victims to local hospitals to receive treatment. The extent of the injuries ranged from serious to critical. There were no life threatening injuries reported.

The teen driver is facing DUI charges as well as two counts of child endangerment. According to the police, there were two minors in the van.

The authorities are continuing to conduct an investigation into the accident.
