The icy weather conditions played a role in the fatal car accident that took the life of a Missouri man Monday night.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Edward R. McComb, 51, of Jefferson City, was traveling southbound on U.S. 54, 1 1/2 miles west of Missouri 52, when he drove off the right side of the road and rolled over several times, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol

McComb, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, where he was pronounced dead.

Another weather-related accident occurred early Tuesday morning in Cole County.

William G. Fast, 20, of California, was traveling southbound on Rock House Road, about three miles north of Route U, just before 1:15 a.m., when he drove off the right side of the road where he hit some brush and his car rolled over.
