Woman Injured in Pedestrian Accident
A woman suffered a serious leg injury in a pedestrian accident in Des Moines, Iowa Thursday morning.
Veronica Lima, 54, of West Des Moines, was crossing the street when she was struck by a DART bus turning onto 9th from Walnut Avenue around 7:40 a.m. Thursday.
The bus ran over Lima’s leg and she was taken to Iowa Methodist Medical Center with a serious leg injury. She is listed in fair condition.
The driver of the DART bus was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian. The accident is under investigation.
