Woman Killed, Another Injured in Tubing Accident

A woman was killed and another suffered critical injuries in a tubing accident on a lake in western Douglas County, Nebraska, Sunday night.

Jennifer Dwyer, 30, and Kimberly Spangler, 29, were tubing when they crashed into a dock at the West Shores subdivision around 7:30 p.m., near 252nd and Pacific streets.

The women were airlifted to Nebraska Medical Center, where Dwyer was pronounced dead from internal injuries, and Spangler suffered a severe cut on her back.

Todd Spangler, 30, was cited for boating under the influence but the charge has been dropped.
