Woman Killed in Accident on Snow-Covered Roadway
The first fatal traffic accident of 2009 in St. Croix County occurred Wednesday afternoon, with the death of a young Wisconsin woman.
St. Croix County Sheriff’s office responded to a crash on STH 29 in the Town of Cady at 4:42 on Wednesday.
Carrie A. Lehmann, 24, of Menomonie, Wisconsin had lost control of the Ford Taurus she was driving as she rounded the curve on the snow-covered road. Her vehicle uncontrollably veered sideways into the westbound lane and was struck by a truck.
Lehmann, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
The driver of the truck was transported to Baldwin Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s office is investigating the fatal accident.
