Woman Killed in Bicycling Accident at Virginia Tech

A Portland woman was killed in a bicycling accident at the Virginia Tech University campus Thursday.

Lesbian activist Bonnie Tinker, 61, was bicycling when she was struck and run over by a Mack truck around 4:30 p.m. at the Virginia Tech campus. She was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Tinker was Director of the Portland, Ore. Love Makes a Family and a member of the Seriously P.O.’d Grannies. Tinker was visiting the campus for a conference with the Religious Society of Friends.

The accident is under investigation.
