Woman Killed, Two Injured, in Two-Vehicle Accident

A woman was killed and two people injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 in Mesquite, Texas late Thursday night.

Willie Kind, 59, of Henderson, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on Interstate 20 near Lawson Road when he was rear-ended by a Honda Accord, according to Mesquite police. The impact caused the truck to cross the center median, and overturn in the eastbound lanes.

A passenger in the pickup, Fannie Kind, 54, of Henderson, was ejected from the truck and killed.

Willie Kind was transported to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas where he was listed in stable condition, police stated. The driver of the Honda, whose name has not been released, was also transported to the hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
