Woman Seriously Injured in Roll-Over Accident

A woman remains hospitalized in serious condition was upgraded to fair on Thursday after a serious accident Wednesday in Missouri.

Phyllis Ware, 49, of Albany, Missouri was traveling northbound in a 2006 Pontiac on Missouri Route N, five miles west of Conception in Nodaway County. Around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday the Pontiac struck the side a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Bernard Eckstein, 71, of Stanberry. The Pontiac ran off the roadway and rolled over, before coming to a stop upright in a ditch.

Ware was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center suffering from serious injuries that required surgery. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Eckstein was wearing a seat belt and did not suffer any injuries.
