Worker Killed in Accident at Appleton Paper

A worker was killed in an industrial accident when a piece of equipment fell from a forklift onto him at Appleton Paper in West Carrollton, Ohio.

William Wilson, 39, was working at Appleton Paper, located at 1030 West Alex-Bell Road along Interstate 75, when a spreader bar that was hanging from a forklift fell onto him, trapping him underneath around 10:45 a.m.

Emergency responders had to use a crane to lift the bar off him. Wilson was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The accident is under investigation.
