A Sioux Falls man had both his arms amputated after a construction accident near Onawa, Iowa.

Brady Murphy, 22, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was shocked and suffered serious burns while he was working for Highline Construction of Paynesville, Minnesota near Onawa.

Murphy is in a hospital in Nebraska recovering from the severe burns, which resulted in the amputation of both of his arms. Murphy has also undergone seven surgeries and will most likely need more.

  1. Ashley,
I am inquiring about your article on Brady Murphy. I am also a bilateral arm amputee due to an electrical accident. I am from Rapid City,SD and now live in Knoxville,TN. I am a representatitve for the Amputee Coalition of America which helps amputee’s with all types of literature and other helpful resources including Peer Visitation which is very beneficial to a new amputee. I have called the Texas RoadHouse in Sioux Falls and gave them my phone number as I read they had a benefit for Brady in August,I believe.
I would love to be of assistance to Brady and his family through this life changing trial.

    Thank you,
    Jim Haag

  2. That is incredibly tragic. My thoughts are with that worker and his family, hoping that he is doing well today. Construction accidents are some of the worst workplace injuries out there, due to the dangerous nature of their day to day work. People who have been involved in serious accidents should contact an Omaha Serious Injury Lawyer to discuss their rights and what kind of action they can take. The physical, emotional, and financial damage from an event like this can be tremendous; a lawyer may be able to help with that damage.
