Worker’s Fingertip Amputated in Industrial Accident
An employee at an Evans printing plant had his fingertip amputated in an industrial accident.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was working at the Quebecor World Inc. plant on Evans to Locks Road when the accident occurred and his fingertip was amputated. The victim was hospitalized and then released after treatment.
A safety department spokesman at said the accident is under investigation.
The accident was reported to the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s Region 4 office in Atlanta, which will most likely conduct a routine investigation, according to OSHA spokesman Mike Wald. Their findings may take up to six months to be released.
