Young Man Killed in Snowmobile Accident

A young man was killed in a snowmobile accident Saturday morning in the town of Montague, New York.

John Tracy, 19, of Auburn, was snowmobiling with four of his friends, and was second in line when he attempted to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Pitcher Road and Flat Rock and lost control of his snowmobile. The vehicle rolled over and ejected Tracy.

Responders attempted to resuscitate Tracy at the accident scene, but were unsuccessful. Tracy was transported to Lewis County General Hospital where he was pronounced.

The accident is under investigation by State Police in Lowville.
