Young Woman Ejected in Florida Auto Accident
A young woman from Gainseville, Florida was ejected from her vehicle in a single-car accident on Interstate 75 Thursday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Krista Buda, 20, of Gainseville, was heading northbound on I-75 at about 9:30 a.m. in the inside lane when, for undetermined reasons, she lost control of the 1998 Oldsmobile she was driving and it slammed into the guard rail. The impact caused the vehicle to rotate, and Buda was ejected out of the vehicle onto the right lane, about a mile and a half south of County Road 326 exit. The Oldsmobile continued to spin until it stopped on the east side shoulder.
Buda was transported to Shands at the University of Florida with non life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Two lanes were temporarily closed, backing up traffic for miles on I-75 northbound in result of the accident. Lanes have been reopened.
